Our local Indie bookstore in Frederick, MD, has a great event that I wanted to share with you. Its always fun to try something new.
Even if you don't have "young people" (what a term!) in your household who would read this, its fun to watch and listen in on, and yes, even I love a good novel targeted at the younger crowd..*shock, horror! Maybe you will find new books for the Winter?
In their words:
"Join us on Thursday, October 29, at 7 pm for our virtual event with debut YA author Dante Medema. Dante will be in conversation with author Kathleen Glasgow to discuss Dante's new book,The Truth Project.
Lauren, the Iguana's operations manager, was lucky enough to be on a panel of booksellers that selected Dante's book to be on the American Booksellers Association's Fall/Winter 2020 Indies Introduce list! Here's what Lauren has to say about this book:
"When budding poet Cordelia decides to focus her senior project on her family's genealogy, she submits a DNA analysis only to discover the horrifying truth that the man who she always believed to be her father is not really her biological father. Beautifully written in verse form, poignant, and affecting,The Truth Projectis something truly special that will grab hold of your heart and not let go."
We can't wait to host Dante's virtual event and hope you'll join us on the 29th. Use the link below to register (it's free!)--and please share with others who might be interested. Thanks as always for your support!"
They are a fab local resource for great books (and the best book recommendations EVER - just go in and tell them what type of book interests you and see what they find for you!) and they are an independent bookstore. Support local in these hard times and tune in for lots of things going on around the area!
